Satellite Communication Systems Inc. standard network connecting Fixed Satellite Service is a Single Carrier Per Channel (SCPC) established between two VSAT terminals or between a VSAT terminal and a satellite modem at SCSI's Teleport facility. The satellite station and associated terminal equipment remain off-line until the service is requested. When service is requested, an SCPC carrier is commissioned between service points.

SCPC carriers can be simplex or duplex. Half duplex (frequency reuse) is not available with SCPS carriers. Costs for SCPC are listed in incremental sizes per carrier. Two carriers are required for full duplex service.

For VSAT-to-VSAT carriers, the customer purchases equipment for both ends and pays for bandwidth based on the term of the contract, the size of the carrier and the satellite servicing the carrier.

For VSAT-to-Teleport carriers, the customer purchases equipment for the remote end and pays a Teleport port termination charge plus bandwidth charges.  Teleport termination charges are priced by the term (One hour, One Day, One Week, One Year, Multi-Year).  Bandwidth charges are the same as VSAT-to-VSAT.
