Satellite Communication Systems offers Globalstar portable and fixed satellite phones and service plans for US based user terminals. Globalstar operates a network of forty Low Earth Orbiting satellites and provides affordable, dependable high-quality satellite voice and data service across the United States and over 120 countries worldwide.

Globalstar system operates at various data rates, set by link conditions on a real-time basis during the voice call. The system is capable of operating down to 600 bps when there is no voice activity, all the way up to a maximum of 9600bps. The statistical average data rate for most voice calls is 3000bps, and this yields excellent voice quality. With the GSP 1600 and GSP 2900 series satellite phones, users can access e-mail, the Internet and private networks using the standard dial-up or Direct Internet methods.
The phones can be connected to a laptop, PC or PDA. With the GSP 2900 series, users can communicate with remote monitoring devices to track and reset equipment in remote locations.

Special Purpose Modems can be integrated into solutions for assets tracking and remote sensing, monitoring and control of in-field operations. Operators can collect polled, scheduled, and event-driven data in near real-time from isolated locations or track assets and monitor oil reserves. The Globalstar Special Service Data Modems are an ideal solution for collecting essential data without the expense of sending crews into the field.
Duplex Modem - The Globalstar Duplex Modem or GSP-1620 Satellite Data Modem (SDU) delivers reliable two-way Internet and data retrieval communications for SCADA and Telemetry application and other advanced data applications. Globalstar offers 9600bps duplex data via circuit or packet switched modes. By bonding multiple 9600bps duplex modems, Globalstar can offer much higher data rate for its data services. Currently, we have systems that bond 8 duplex modems (maximum combined data rate of 76.8Kbps) or 16 duplex modems (153.6Kbps). The Simplex Transmitter Unit (STU) is designed to deliver reliable, one-way data communications for asset tracking, remote sensing and monitoring applications. Globalstar offers a simplex service for remote assets monitoring purposes at 100bps.
